DHT Release
Dihydrotestosterone, or DHT, is an androgenic hormone that is a primary cause of hair loss in both men and women alike. It is created in the adrenal glands in both sexes and within the prostate and testes in men. As testosterone is broken down, DHT release into the bloodstream occurs from these originating glands. Once in the blood supply, DHT binds to specific receptors in hair follicles and slowly reduces the follicles' ability to absorb nutrients they need in order to maintain proper hair growth.
As the DHT builds up, the hair follicle becomes dormant for longer periods of time and produces finer, less healthy hair. In order to combat this problem, it is important that DHT release is achieved within the hair follicles. Kevis utilizes a unique drug-free formula to naturally remove the DHT and encourage healthy hair growth.
Kevis Encourages DHT Release
The DHT release is accomplished by filling the receptors on the hair follicle with HUCP, or high-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid, a compound that mimics DHT on a molecular level but does not have the same toxic effect on hair growth. This compound is patented and is only available in Kevis products.
HUCP is delivered to the hair follicle via Kevis lotions and shampoos applied directly to the hair and scalp. As the HUCP binds with the hair follicles, the DHT release occurs and it goes back into the bloodstream. Healthy hair growth is then promoted as the DHT is removed and kept away from the hair follicles.
